UPNVJ Public Relations — In an effort to expand their international academic network, the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) and Siam University, Bangkok, officially agreed on an international collaboration (August 25, 2025) which is believed to open new avenues for cross-border academic collaboration. This cooperation agreement was made in the presence of participants of the 16th Council of University Presidents of Thailand-Conference of Rectors of Indonesian State Universities (CUPT–CRISU) Conference 2025 which took place at the Coordinating Ministry for the Capital of the Archipelago.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was carried out by the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyanto, ST., M.Sc., IPM, representing the Rector of UPNVJ Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm, and President of Siam University Dr. Pornchai Mongkonvanit. This collaboration includes student and lecturer exchanges, joint research, community service, and curriculum internationalization. These areas are considered important to face global challenges, especially in addressing issues of sustainability, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Anter Venus emphasized that this collaboration is a strategic step to expand the global academic network. "This collaboration strengthens UPNVJ's commitment to providing higher education rooted in the values of National Defense, while also being internationally competitive," he said.
Siam University, known for its active international collaborations, is seen as a strategic partner. This renowned private university in Bangkok has long established a reputation for entrepreneurship and sustainability studies. The collaboration with UPNVJ is expected to produce joint programs with a tangible impact on both the academic community and the wider community.
The CUPT–CRISU 2025 Forum brought together Indonesian and Thai university leaders for dialogue and synergy. "This forum opens up a real opportunity for UPNVJ to partner with universities that share a similar vision," said Prof. Venus.
This collaboration focuses not only on academics but also on building inclusive and innovative networks. The programs are designed to prepare students to face global challenges, particularly in sustainability, technology, and entrepreneurship.
"This collaboration opens up new learning spaces, brings cultures together, and bridges ideas across borders," concluded Prof. Venus. With this step, UPNVJ affirms its commitment to the impactful internationalization of higher education.
