UPNVJ Celebrates 80th Indonesian Independence Day with an Inter-Work Unit Futsal Competition

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia by holding a futsal competition between work units. The event, held at the Limo Campus Futsal Field in Jakarta, was attended by UPNVJ academics on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).

The futsal competition was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UPNVJ, Dr. S. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Sc., representing the university's leadership. In his remarks, he stated that this activity aims to strengthen ties between work units and foster a spirit of sportsmanship. "The commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day teaches us about unity and fighting spirit. This competition serves as a forum to strengthen togetherness and cooperation within the UPNVJ environment," he said.

The opening match pitted the Faculty of Law (FH) and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP). The match was intense, but FISIP emerged victorious with a narrow 3-2 score. In the second match, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) dominated the Faculty of Engineering (FT), winning 5-1. Meanwhile, the Rectorate team won the third match by a walkout against the Administrative Implementation Unit (UPA).

The quarterfinals are scheduled for August 19, 2025, followed by the semifinals, finals, and third-place play-off on August 20, 2025, at the same location. This event is part of a series of events commemorating the 80th Indonesian Independence Day at UPNVJ, which is expected to strengthen solidarity, sportsmanship, and the spirit of independence within the UPNVJ community.
