UPNVJ Faculty of Law and UNAIR Faculty of Law Collaborate to Strengthen Tridharma and Doctoral Programs

 

UPNVJ Public Relations - The Faculty of Law (FH) of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ) and the Faculty of Law of Airlangga University (FH UNAIR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at FH UNAIR, Surabaya. This collaboration focuses on strengthening the Tridharma of Higher Education: education, research, and community service, as well as benchmarking the Doctoral Program in Law.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, SH, LL.M., stated that this collaboration is a strategic step to improve academic quality and competitiveness. "This collaboration strengthens academic networks, produces quality research, and makes a real contribution to global legal challenges," he said.

The collaboration includes faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, joint scientific publications, and community service based on legal needs. These activities are expected to expand networks, increase research output, and support legal solutions in the global era.

The series of events also included benchmarking the UPNVJ FH Doctoral Program with UNAIR's Faculty of Law, which has established doctoral programs. Accompanied by the Head of the UPNVJ FH Doctoral Program, Dr. Handar Subhandi Bakhtiar, SH, MH, M.Tr.Adm.Kes., the UPNVJ delegation studied the curriculum, governance, mentoring, and internationalization strategies. "UNAIR's experience is an important reference for strengthening our doctoral program," said Dr. Handar.

This benchmarking session discusses adaptive curriculum design, mentoring systems, and best practices that can be implemented at UPNVJ, which recently established a Doctoral Program in Law. This collaboration is expected to produce a sustainable, real-world program, produce outstanding graduates, and strengthen the legal profession's national and international contributions.
