PROSPEKTIV 2025: UPNVJ Chancellor Emphasizes the Importance of a Growth Mindset

Public Relations of UPNVJ – The Chancellor of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm officially opened the 2025 Learning, Ethics, Collaboration, and Creativity Stimulation Program (PROSPEKTIV) on Saturday, October 25, 2025. This annual activity, which is a mandatory agenda for 4,670 new students in the 2025/2026 Academic Year, was held online via the Zoom platform.

PROSPEKTIV is a signature UPNVJ activity designed to instill the core values of academic life, ethics, collaboration, and creativity in new students. The training focuses on strengthening character, a growth mindset, and critical thinking skills through various interactive sessions with expert speakers.

In her remarks when opening the event, Prof. Venus emphasized that campus is not just a place to gain knowledge, but a place to grow and develop one's potential.

"The PROSPEKTIV event is a signature activity at UPNVJ. Campus is a place to grow, develop, and advance. With that awareness, we must begin our journey on campus by understanding the essence of life and learning, including learning techniques and ethical thinking ," said Prof. Venus.

Furthermore, Prof. Venus explained that for UPNVJ, the campus is a space to discover and hone students' potential so that they can develop optimally.

"To understand and unleash our potential, we need a growth mindset. With this mindset, we can optimistically view everything as both an opportunity and a challenge for development," he said.

According to him, having a growth mindset is the best starting point for learning in higher education. After understanding their potential, students need to use it for creativity, problem-solving, and upholding ethical standards in life.

"In this training, we also learn ethical and critical thinking . All of these are tools for our growth and development," he added.

The Chancellor explained that all PROSPEKTIV 2025 materials were designed to build awareness of personal potential and strategies for its development. With this training, it is hoped that students will be able to advance and contribute positively to society.

Closing her remarks, Prof. Venus emphasized the importance of mastering six 21st-century competencies, namely Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Character, and Citizenship.

"We want to instill these six competencies early on in the UPNVJ environment. I truly hope this activity will be a starting point for you to grow, develop, and become the best versions of yourselves," Prof. Venus advised the PROSPEKTIV 2025 participants.

Through PROSPEKTIV 2025, UPNVJ is committed to producing a young generation that not only excels academically, but also has the integrity and spirit of defending the country to face global challenges intelligently and ethically.
