UPNVJ Public Relations – The Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ), through its Office of International Affairs (KUI), held a seminar on Educational, Social, and Cultural Cooperation: Study and Work Opportunities in Germany. The event took place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the UPNVJ campus in Jakarta.
The seminar was opened by Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA, Head of the Office of the Indonesian Language and Culture Office (KUI) at UPNVJ, and attended by representatives from the German Embassy and German alumni. The aim was to strengthen the campus' internationalization by expanding students' perspectives on further study and careers in Germany, in line with the demands of global competition in ASEAN.
In his remarks, Dr. Bambang Susanto emphasized UPNVJ's commitment as a public university in Jakarta to facing competition among the younger generation. He cited Germany as an ideal educational model, supported by initiatives such as the German Corner and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for student exchange. "Competition is now expanding to ASEAN, so we are facilitating students through German alumni," he said. This seminar is expected to prepare graduates for study or work abroad.
Annisa Fitria, Head of Science and Technology at the German Embassy in Indonesia, expressed her appreciation for the UPNVJ collaboration. She stated that the need for skilled workers in Germany is increasing, opening opportunities for Indonesian students. "Germany offers quality education and a rich cultural experience, even though it is not an English-speaking country," she said. This initiative involves universities and alumni for effective educational cooperation.
The seminar featured three expert speakers: Dr. Sari Panjaitan from the Association of Indonesian German Scholars (IASI), Samuel Siahaan, Head of the Education Division of the Indonesian German Alumni Association (Aljerin), and Dipl.-Ing. Anis Daud from Aljerin. They outlined study requirements, scholarships, cultural adaptation, and post-graduation career prospects. Interactive sessions included discussions on higher education pathways and professional career opportunities in Germany.
The seminar was interactive, featuring presentations and discussions between speakers and participants. This activity is part of the UPNVJ Office of UI's strategic agenda to expand its global network and enhance student readiness for international competition.
