Public Relations of UPNVJ - The Faculty of Law of the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (FH UPNVJ) successfully held the National Forum for the Initiation of the Establishment of the Indonesian Business Law Study Program Association on November 20, 2025. The event, attended by delegates from 24 universities, resulted in the formation of a national association, with Rianda Dirkareshza, SH, MH from UPNVJ being elected as the first chair. Deputy Dean of FH UPNVJ Taupiqqurrahman, SH, M.Kn. became the main speaker who emphasized the mandate of Permendiktisaintek Number 39 of 2025.
The forum was opened with a report from the committee chair, Rianda Dirkareshza, and remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Law, UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, SH, MH, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si. Taupiqqurrahman delivered the first material regarding the history of the regulation on naming business law study programs. He explained the development from only three general law study programs to the recognition of the Business Law Study Program through the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 257 of 2017, followed by revisions in 2019, 2022, and the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education Number 96 of 2025.
According to Taupiqqurrahman, the business law study program is relatively new with an average age of under five years. The formation of an association is an urgent need for mutual strengthening, especially as an indirect mandate from the Minister of Education and Science and Technology Regulation Number 39 of 2025 concerning Quality Assurance of Higher Education. Article 10 paragraph (1) of the regulation stipulates that the core competencies of graduates are compiled by an association of similar study programs.
He detailed the core competencies of business law graduates, including mastery of theoretical concepts and procedural skills, as well as the ability to adapt to change. Taupiqqurrahman provided three key recommendations: jointly developing graduate learning outcomes, agreeing on the provision of supporting laboratories, and determining mandatory study program courses. The forum's success underscores the role of the UPNVJ Faculty of Law as a driving force for standardizing national business law education.
UPN Veteran Jakarta Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., expressed his pride. "The initiation of this association aligns with UPNVJ's vision of building high-quality and impactful higher education. The leadership of our lecturers in the new association will accelerate the transformation of the business law study program to be more adaptive and relevant to the needs of industry and Indonesia Emas 2045," he said.
The establishment of the Indonesian Business Law Study Program Association marks a strategic step towards improving the quality of higher education in accordance with the latest regulations.
