UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) and Tanjungpura University (UNTAN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation between the universities. The signing took place on Monday (November 24, 2025) at the UNTAN campus in Pontianak, as part of the 30th Campus Convention and the 26th Annual Meeting of the Indonesian Rectors Forum (FRI).
The event, themed "Higher Education as Centers of Innovation-Based Growth: The Relevance of Higher Education and Industrialization Towards a Golden Indonesia," was attended by more than 180 rectors and university leaders from across Indonesia, including the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Mendikbudristek), who emphasized the priority of research and talent for economic development. The event took place at UNTAN from November 22-24, 2025.
The MoU was signed by UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., and UNTAN Rector Prof. Dr. Garuda Wiko, SH, M.Si. The agreement covers the Tridharma of Higher Education, namely education, research, and community service. Both universities are committed to developing joint programs, such as lecturer-student exchanges, collaborative research, scientific publications, curriculum strengthening, and activities based on community needs and regional development.
This collaboration supports the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, where universities are expected to become drivers of innovation and industrialization. FRI promotes the role of universities in producing superior human resources, expanding academic networks, and enhancing national and global competitiveness. This step aligns with the national agenda to strengthen the research-based education ecosystem, as emphasized at this year's FRI conference.
