UPNVJ Public Relations – The Research Ethics Committee of the Veterans National Development University (KEP UPNVJ) conducted a comparative study with the Health Research Ethics Committee of Padjadjaran University (KEPK Unpad) on Friday (November 21, 2025). This activity aimed to improve the quality of services and research ethics governance through in-depth discussions. The UPNVJ delegation was received in the Hybrid Meeting Room of the Koeswadji Building, Bandung.
The UPNVJ delegation was led by the Head of the Research Center & Study Center of LPPM Muhammad Alif Razi, Ph.D., and the Head of KEP dr. Adi Sukrisno, Sp.OG, FMAS, and his team. They were received by the Head of KEPK Unpad Dr. Muhammad Hasan Bashari, dr., M.Kes., and Secretary Dr. Vycke Yunivita KD, dr., M.Kes. Dr. Bashari welcomed this initiative as a collaborative step to strengthen national research ethics standards.
The discussion focused on the organizational governance of KEPK Unpad, the protocol review mechanism from proposal acceptance to ethical clearance, and the quality assurance system using a digital platform. Both parties shared challenges such as reviewer workload, research variability, and ethics education for researchers. The results yielded new insights for improving the effectiveness of ethics committees at each institution.
The two committees agreed to follow up with ongoing collaboration, including joint reviewer training, best practice exchanges, and collaborative ethics activities. This step is expected to build an ethical, transparent, and accountable research ecosystem in Indonesian universities.
UPN Veteran Jakarta Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., assessed that this activity supports the university's vision. "This activity strengthens UPNVJ's commitment to achieving high-quality, ethical research standards, in line with the policy of transforming higher education towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
"Collaboration between universities like this will accelerate our achievements as an innovative and responsible national defense campus," he said.
