Public Relations of UPNVJ - The Faculty of Computer Science of the Veteran National Development University Jakarta (FIK UPNVJ) held the 7th International Conference on Informatics, Multimedia, Cyber and Information System (ICIMCIS 2025) on December 3-4, 2025 at Ibis Styles Jakarta Simatupang. This conference brought together researchers, practitioners, and academics from Indonesia and abroad to discuss developments in information and communication technology. Opened by UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., the event carried the theme "Empowering National Resilience through Digital Sovereignty and Immersive Technology for a Sustainable Innovation Era" to strengthen national resilience through sustainable digital innovation.
The conference was attended by approximately 40 lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Science, University of UPNVJ, along with international researchers. The opening remarks included remarks from the dean, Prof. Dr. Ir. Supriyanto, ST, MSc, IPM, and representatives from IEEE. Four keynote speakers delivered their material: Wai-keung Fung, PhD, from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Choo Yun Huoy, from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Dr. Shafiq Ul Rehman, from Kingdom University (Bahrain), and Artika Arista, SKom, MMSI, from UPNVJ and Universiti Malaya.
UPN Veteran Jakarta Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm in his remarks emphasized the strategic value of this event. "ICIMCIS 2025 facilitates the exchange of knowledge from IT, IS, multimedia, and cyber practitioners for the development of e-Government and information security governance. This encourages communication between national and international researchers regarding ICT developments, in line with UPNVJ's vision of building digitally adaptive national defense human resources. This conference accelerates the achievement of Indonesia Emas 2045 through sustainable innovation policies and digital sovereignty," he said.
The first day's agenda focused on the keynote and offline-online parallel sessions until the afternoon. The second day continued with parallel sessions, the announcement of the best paper and best presenter for the Multimedia AI Technology, Cybersecurity, Informatics, and Information Systems tracks, plus awards for related conferences such as SEINASI-KESI and SENABDIKOM, and concluded with a closing ceremony.
The main objective of ICIMCIS 2025 is to provide local governments with perspectives on the role of ICT in human resource development, raise awareness of ICT utilization and information security governance for national competitiveness, and broaden insights into technology's contribution to national development. The conference facilitates knowledge exchange based on best practices in e-Government and information security, encouraging inter-institutional collaboration for sustainable innovation.
