UPNVJ Launches the National Defense Implementation Index (IIBN) for Indonesian Campuses

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) launched the National Defense Implementation Index (IIBN) at the 2025 National Symposium (20/12/2025). The launch was carried out by UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm, Head of the UPNVJ Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) Dr. Sri Lestari Wahyuningroem, and Head of the National Defense Index Survey Team Danis Tri Saputra W., M.IP at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Auditorium, UPNVJ Rectorate Building.

The IIBN is a measuring tool that focuses on the practical application of national defense values within the Indonesian academic community. The IIBN is expected to strengthen nationalism, patriotism, and resilience in the face of non-military threats such as disinformation and cyberattacks.

The design of this index involved experts from the fields of education, politics, government, law, information technology, and the environment. Unlike previous national defense indices, IIBN emphasizes evaluating the spirit of national defense through eight main indices. This allows for an assessment of whether a university demonstrates a strong commitment to national resilience.

In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., explained that many national defense indices do not reflect the reality of implementation. "We designed our own index by involving various multidisciplinary experts. With IIBN, we can accurately assess the spirit of national defense on campus," he said. He added that this index serves as a foundation for building ideological resilience and social cohesion in higher education.

The IIBN launch was part of a collaboration between UPNVJ and the Indonesian National Defense Movement (GBNI) in a national symposium. The event also discussed non-military threats such as narrative warfare and social polarization, with speakers from the Ministry of Defense and national resilience institutions.

UPNVJ affirmed its commitment to strengthening non-military national defense through innovations such as IIBN. "Our vision is to build a superior generation with strong national defense values, supporting Indonesia Emas 2045 through innovative education policies and cross-sector collaboration," said Prof. Venus.
