Public Relations of UPNVJ - Nur Mufidah, a student of the Medical Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ), won first place in the diving event in the 2025 Indonesia Open Aquatic Championship national competition. The championship held by the All-Indonesia Swimming Association took place in late 2025 at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, involving hundreds of the best athletes from various regions. In his statement to the Public Relations team, on Friday (9/1/26) Nur won thanks to precise movement techniques, high consistency, and regular training that overcame the challenges of this prestigious competition, where participants were judged based on the aesthetics of the jump, the difficulty of maneuvers, and the cleanliness of the water entry.
The 2025 Indonesia Open Aquatics Championship, an annual event featuring swimming, water polo, artistic swimming, and diving, aims to scout talents for international events such as the 2025 Southeast Asian Games. The competition attracts approximately 1,600 athletes, with diving a prominent category that demands physical endurance and precision. Nur's victory was achieved through six months of intensive preparation, including simulations of 5-10 meter tower jumps, which aligns with her previous experience at the 2023 event, where she also won a medal.
This achievement furthers UPNVJ's track record of supporting outstanding non-academic students, as Nur successfully balances medical studies with extreme sports. This championship not only increases exposure for young athletes but also contributes to the development of national talent for international medals.
