Ramadhan 1447 H at UPNVJ: Manbaul 'Ulum and Al Fikri Mosques Ready to Serve Iftar and Study Services

UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) welcomes the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah by preparing a series of centralized religious activities in two campus mosques throughout Ramadan 2026. Coordinated by the Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM), the activities that began at the beginning of Ramadan target the academic community and the community around the campus, with a focus on spiritual strengthening, Islamic propagation, and social togetherness in the National Defense Campus environment.

The Head of the UPNVJ Student Council, Suprima, explained that two campus mosques, the Manbaul 'Ulum Mosque on the Pondok Labu Campus and the Al Fikri Mosque on the Limo Campus, will be the centers of Ramadan activities this year. "The distribution of takjil and iftar meals will be carried out through the UPNVJ Labu Campus Mosque and the UPNVJ Limo Mosque. The goal is to enliven the message of Ramadan through the campus mosques. We hope that our mosques will be even more crowded with congregants," said Suprima.

The series of activities planned includes a communal breaking of the fast (iftar), a 45-minute religious study before breaking the fast, congregational tarawih prayers, and a sermon after the midday prayer. The entire program is designed to strengthen religious understanding and foster a religious and inclusive campus atmosphere during the holy month.

The iftar program is scheduled to last 15 days during Ramadan. The committee provides takjil (breaking-the-fast) meals and meals for approximately 100 people per day at the Manbaul 'Ulum Mosque on the Pondok Labu Campus and approximately 50 people per day at the Al Fikri Mosque on the Limo Campus. This program is designed to accommodate both the mosque's capacity and the needs of the congregation at each campus.

In essence, this activity not only addresses personal worship needs but also strengthens the values of togetherness and social awareness. The Ramadan period provides a space for interaction between students, lecturers, educational staff, and the surrounding community in a warm and solidarity-filled atmosphere.

UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., emphasized that strengthening the character and spirituality of the academic community is an integral part of UPNVJ's identity as a National Defense Campus. According to him, Ramadan is a strategic momentum to instill the values of discipline, empathy, and social responsibility. "Campus is not only an academic space, but also a space for character building. Through Ramadan activities, we strengthen integrity, care, and a spirit of togetherness as the foundation for building a superior and competitive generation," he said.

The UPNVJ Student Council (DKM) invites the entire academic community to actively participate in improving the mosque's well-being during the holy month. With collective participation, UPNVJ hopes that Ramadan 1447 H will be a momentum to improve the quality of worship while strengthening a campus culture that is religious, harmonious, and has a positive impact on the surrounding community.
