UPNVJ Public Relations — Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) welcomed a delegation from Lobachevsky State University, Russia, on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, in the UPNVJ Rector's Office. The meeting was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as an umbrella for implementing strategic collaboration in education and research. The signing of the PKS strengthens UPNVJ's internationalization agenda while expanding opportunities for academic mobility and cross-border research collaboration.

The Lobachevsky State University delegation was led by Rector Prof. Oleg Trofimov, along with officials from the international cooperation division. The presence of the university leaders emphasized Lobachevsky State University's commitment to building a long-term partnership with UPNVJ, including expanding its academic network in Southeast Asia.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., welcomed the visit and emphasized the importance of impact-oriented international collaboration. He stated that global cooperation should be designed beyond ceremonies and should produce measurable programs for the academic community.

"We view Lobachevsky University as a leading research institution with a strong international reputation for academic excellence, scientific innovation, and knowledge development. For this reason, we see significant potential for meaningful and sustainable cooperation between our two institutions," said Prof. Venus.

During the meeting, the two parties discussed several implementation collaboration schemes. The scope of cooperation includes organizing a summer school to enrich students' international experiences, establishing a Russian language course to expand language competency and cultural understanding, and plans to establish a Russian Corner at UPNVJ as a meeting point for academic and cultural activities. Both institutions also offer opportunities for student participation in international academic olympiads.

In addition to educational programs, UPNVJ and Lobachevsky State University are exploring research collaboration through joint research grants, scientific journal development, and the formulation of joint educational programs. These initiatives are aimed at strengthening the quality of publications, enhancing recognition of faculty and students, and preparing graduates with global qualifications.
Rector of Lobachevsky State University Prof. Oleg Trofimov appreciated UPNVJ's welcome and expressed commitment to developing sustainable joint projects.

"We are very open to joint projects in journal development and so on. We hope this collaboration will support our country as well," said Prof. Trofimov.

Through the signing of this PKS, the two universities agreed to develop an action plan containing targets, achievement indicators, and a timeline for program implementation. UPNVJ believes this collaboration aligns with the policy of strengthening the internationalization of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, improving institutional performance, and expanding global networks, all while remaining grounded in the values of National Defense.

At the close of the meeting, Prof. Venus emphasized that UPNVJ will ensure the collaboration is productive and provides tangible benefits for students, lecturers, and the institution. UPNVJ aims for this collaboration to leverage academic reputation enhancement, expand research partnerships, and accelerate the achievement of the university's key performance indicators through measurable and sustainable programs.
