The Saman Team from FEB UPNVJ Wins Second Place in Ratoh Jaroe at SANDCENTION 10, Proof of the Preservation of Indonesian Culture

 

UPNVJ Public Relations - Students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Veteran National Development University Jakarta (FEB UPNVJ) won second place in the Ratoh Jaroe category at the SANDCENTION 10 event held at Kebayoran Park Mall, Jakarta on (7/26). The FEB UPNVJ Saman team performed impressively with an emphasis on compact movements, rhythmic precision, and the philosophical meaning of unity and togetherness in this traditional Acehnese dance.

SANDCENTION 10, initiated by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta, carries the theme "Move Together, Youth in Sync: Synergy of the Young Generation in Preserving Dance as the Cultural Identity of the Archipelago".

This competition provides a platform for collaboration between students from various universities to preserve traditional arts heritage amidst the currents of modernization.

The participation of the Saman Team from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPNVJ reflects the faculty's commitment to fostering cultural awareness among economics and business students. Despite their background in economics, they successfully demonstrated that the values of discipline, leadership, and collaboration learned in the classroom can also be realized in the performing arts.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UPNVJ, Dr. Jubaedah, SE, MM, expressed her high appreciation for this achievement. "UPNVJ FEB students are expected to become professionals with character, integrity, and a concern for the nation's cultural values," she said.
