Warm and Friendly Welcome, UPNVJ Chancellor Receives De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Philippines Delegation

Public Relations of UPNVJ — The Rector of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm welcomed the visit of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), Philippines, on Thursday, February 12, 2026 morning at the UPNVJ Rectorate Lobby, Jakarta. This visit is part of an effort to strengthen relations between universities at the international level, as well as open a space for cross-country dialogue for students. The group was led by Ms. Maricel Fernandez-Carag, Chairperson of Governance and Public Affairs, School of Diplomacy and Governance, DLS-CSB, along with 20 students.

The DLS-CSB delegation's visit was part of a series of international talkshow activities titled "Education, Social, and Culture between UPNVJ and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Philippines," organized by the UPNVJ Office of International Affairs (KUI). The forum was designed as a space for academic discussion to enrich students' perspectives on educational issues, social dynamics, and Indonesia-Philippines cultural exchange.

In a warm and friendly welcome, Prof. Venus chatted with Ms. Maricel and the students. The conversation flowed smoothly, ranging from an introduction to UPNVJ, an overview of campus life, to an exchange of cultural perspectives. This atmosphere emphasized the collaborative spirit fostered through a friendly approach across the academic community.

Prof. Venus emphasized that the DLS-CSB delegation's visit was not merely a ceremonial event, but rather an opportunity to expand international networks with a tangible impact on students and faculty. She believes that direct interaction between students from different countries can enrich perspectives, strengthen cross-cultural communication skills, and foster sensitivity to global issues relevant to their fields of study.

"We hope this visit will be a memorable experience for the students and can open up wider opportunities for collaboration in the future," said Prof. Venus.

He also expressed his hope that this meeting would strengthen friendships, not only between the two institutions, but also between the peoples of Indonesia and the Philippines. Through a stronger academic network, UPNVJ encourages the formation of collaborations that can be realized in various forms, such as ongoing academic discussions, student exchange programs, research collaborations, and joint activities that support strengthening global competencies.

This welcoming event and international talk show also emphasized UPNVJ's commitment to providing an inclusive, open, and internationally-minded academic environment. In line with its internationalization agenda, UPNVJ continues to encourage cross-border collaboration as part of its strategy to increase higher education competitiveness at the regional and global levels.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Venus emphasized that UPNVJ will continue to strengthen international collaborations aligned with the university's policy direction. "UPNVJ is committed to building productive and measurable global partnerships that directly benefit student competency development, faculty capacity building, and the university's contribution to international academic discourse," said Prof. Anter Venus.
