UPNVJ Public Relations — The National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) once again strengthened its international network by holding an international talk show entitled “Education, Social, and Culture between UPNVJ and De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Philippines” which took place today at the Diplomacy Laboratory, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UPNVJ (12/2/2026).

The activity, organized by the Office of International Affairs (KUI) UPNVJ, presented the Chairperson of Governance and Public Affairs, School of Diplomacy and Governance De La Salle College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB), Ms. Maricel Fernandez-Carag, along with 20 DLS-CSB students and dozens of UPNVJ students.

The event was officially opened by the Head of the UPNVJ Office of UI, Dr. Bambang Susanto. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation for the DLS-CSB delegation's third visit to UPNVJ. He stated that the continued visit demonstrates the increasingly close academic relationship between the two institutions.

He stated that this activity was not only a forum for discussion, but also a space for cross-cultural learning for students from both countries. " This event is held to provide understanding between students about the culture, the learning system in each institution, and many other aspects that can enrich our perspectives ," he said.

Dr. Bambang hopes that direct interaction between students can open new insights, strengthen tolerance, and encourage future academic collaboration.

Meanwhile, Ms. Maricel Fernandez-Carag expressed her delight at returning to UPNVJ. She explained that she and the student delegation had been in Indonesia for several days and visited several educational institutions. However, she noted that the visit to UPNVJ was a significant event she didn't want to miss.

" We have been in Indonesia for the past few days, visiting several institutions, but we would not miss the opportunity to come back to UPNVJ. Each visit here gives our students meaningful engagement and a deeper appreciation of Indonesia's culture and academic environment ." Said Ms. Maricel in her speech.

He hopes that activities like this can continue as a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences, while also strengthening friendships between Indonesian and Filipino students. He believes this kind of cross-cultural dialogue is crucial for developing a young generation that is open, inclusive, and has a global perspective.

The talk show began with a presentation on the national and university cultures of each country, represented by two UPNVJ students and two DLS-CSB students. The students presented various interesting aspects, ranging from the education system, campus life, social values, and cultural traditions that characterize Indonesia and the Philippines.

The event then continued with a talk show session moderated by UPNVJ students. The discussion was interactive and dynamic, with four students exchanging views and sharing academic and social experiences at their respective campuses. Participants gained a wealth of new information, including a comparison of learning systems, student activities, and the challenges facing young people in both countries.

To conclude, an interview and Q&A session was opened to all participants, along with entertainment provided by DLS-CSB and UPNVJ students. The students' enthusiasm was evident in the numerous questions they asked, seeking to learn more about the culture, customs, and daily life of Indonesia and the Philippines.

Through this activity, UPNVJ reaffirms its commitment to encouraging campus internationalization and creating a global dialogue space that enriches students' insights, both in educational, social, and cultural aspects.
