UPNVJ Public Relations – The Student Study Group (KSM) Jalasatva, Faculty of Engineering, National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) conducted a test of an electric remote control boat on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Brigif Reservoir. This activity is part of the team's preparation for the 2026 Indonesian Boat Contest (KKI). The test is carried out routinely to ensure the readiness of the boat's performance before competing in national-level competitions. This activity was supervised by a lecturer from the Naval Engineering Study Program, Fakhri Akbar Ayub, ST, M.Eng., Ph.D., who provided guidance in developing the boat's design and performance.
During the implementation, the KSM Jalasatva team conducted a series of technical tests to assess the vessel's overall performance. These tests included engine and propulsion system performance, stability on the water, and maneuverability when turning. Furthermore, the team evaluated remote control response to ensure the vessel could be operated precisely under various track conditions.
This trial is a crucial step in the evaluation and refinement process of the craft before competition. Through regular testing, the team can identify any remaining technical and design issues and then promptly implement improvements to optimize the boat's performance during competition.
These preparations also reflect the commitment of UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering students to developing innovation in the field of marine engineering. KSM Jalasatva is a student study group focused on strengthening capabilities through research, academic discussions, and practice in maritime and marine technology. At the 2025 KKI, this team also represented UPNVJ in various competition finals, including the Electrical Remote Control (ERC) category.
Through thorough preparation, the UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering (FT) Jalasatva Student Association (KSM Jalasatva) is expected to perform optimally and achieve success at the 2026 KKI. This effort aligns with UPNVJ's drive to strengthen the culture of innovation, applied competency, and competitiveness of students in the field of maritime technology. From the perspective of university leadership, strengthening student achievement in this way is a crucial part of UPNVJ's policy of developing superior, adaptive graduates who are ready to make a real contribution to the nation's progress.
