UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) officially opened the open selection process for the 2026–2030 UPNVJ Rector Election. The selection process for prospective candidates began on May 22, 2026, and will continue until June 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) through the UPNVJ official website on the rector election channel. This selection process is open to Civil Servants who meet the requirements as stipulated by the UPNVJ Rector Election Committee. This process is an important part of ensuring the continuity of university leadership in an open, orderly, and accountable manner.
The opening of this selection is stated in Announcement Number 3/UN61/KP.05.02/2026/PPR concerning the Open Selection for the Election of the Rector of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta for the 2026–2030 Period. The announcement takes into account a number of regulations, including provisions regarding the appointment and dismissal of leaders of state universities, the UPNVJ Statute, and UPNVJ Senate Regulation Number 02 of 2026 concerning Procedures for the Election of the UPNVJ Rector for the 2026–2030 Period.
The Chair of the UPNVJ Rector Election for the 2026–2030 Period, Silvia Anggraeni, ST., M.Sc., Ph.D., in the announcement stated that the committee is opening the opportunity for civil servants with experience as lecturers with the lowest academic level of Associate Lecturer to participate in the selection. Prospective candidates are also required to have a doctoral education, have managerial experience, be physically and mentally healthy, be drug-free, and meet a number of administrative and integrity requirements.
Required managerial experience includes at least two years as Head of Department or equivalent, or Head of Institution at a state university. Alternatively, prospective candidates may hold positions as low-level senior leaders or echelon II.a officials within government agencies.
In addition, prospective candidates must be at least 60 years old at the time the incumbent rector's term ends, be willing to be nominated as Rector of UPNVJ, not be on a study assignment or study leave for more than six months that would leave them from fulfilling the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, and not be serving moderate or severe disciplinary sanctions. Prospective candidates must also not have been sentenced to prison based on a legally binding court decision and must not have committed plagiarism.
Registration is done online through the www.upnvj.ac.id page on the menu https://pilrek.upnvj.ac.id/. Prospective candidates are asked to fill out a registration form and upload supporting documents, including a nomination form, curriculum vitae, civil servant appointment decision, doctoral diploma, decision on the lowest academic position of Associate Lecturer, managerial experience documents, a certificate of physical and mental health, a certificate of drug-free, proof of LHKPN reporting, and an Employee Performance Target assessment with a minimum of good value for the last two years.
Prospective candidates from outside UPNVJ are required to provide permission from the head of their institution or agency. They must also submit several statements, including their willingness to be nominated as rector, their commitment to not plagiarize, their willingness to resign, their willingness to comply with all election rules and regulations, and their willingness to work full-time.
In addition to the official website, registration documents can also be submitted directly to the Rector Election Committee or sent by post to the Rector Election Committee Secretariat on the 3rd Floor of the General Sudirman Building, Meeting Room of the UPNVJ Planning, Finance, and General Affairs Bureau. The committee provides contact persons Silvia Anggraeni and Suprima for further information regarding registration procedures.
The UPNVJ Rector Election for the 2026–2030 period will take place in several phases. After the registration period, the committee will review administrative requirements from July 3–10, 2026, then submit the results to the Senate from July 10–13, 2026. The Senate will determine the prospective rector candidates on July 13–20, 2026, while the announcement of the selection results will be made no later than July 22, 2026.
The selection process will continue with the presentation of the prospective rector candidates' vision, mission, and work programs in an open senate meeting on July 27–31, 2026. During the same period, the Senate will conduct an assessment and determine three rector candidates in a closed senate meeting. These three candidates will then be submitted to the Minister on August 3–5, 2026.
The rector election stage is scheduled to take place through a closed senate meeting on September 7 or 9, 2026. The determination and inauguration of the UPNVJ Rector for the 2026–2030 period will follow the schedule of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The committee confirms that there is no fee for participating in the selection process. Any official updates regarding the rector selection will be announced on the website www.upnvj.ac.id and the channel https://pilrek.upnvj.ac.id/. Participants who fail to upload complete documents will be deemed ineligible and will not be processed.
This open selection process is an important momentum for UPNVJ in strengthening higher education governance that is transparent, professional, and oriented towards institutional sustainability.
