Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Prepares for LAMSPAK Visitation

UPNVJ Public Relations - The Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ), through the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, is finalizing preparations for the LAMSPAK Field Assessment Visitation for the Undergraduate Program in Political Science. This activity will take place from Tuesday to Thursday, July 7–9, 2026, at the UPNVJ FISIP Auditorium. Preparations are being made to ensure that all documents, supporting data, facilities, and academic team readiness meet external quality assurance standards. Through this agenda, the Undergraduate Program in Political Science is targeting the achievement of Excellent Accreditation.

The field assessment visit is a crucial step in the study program accreditation process, particularly to assess the alignment of self-evaluation documents, academic performance, institutional management, and the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. For the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program, FISIP UPNVJ, this assessment also serves as a momentum to strengthen the governance of political education that is adaptive to social dynamics, democracy, public policy, and community needs.

The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) at UPNVJ, Dr. S. Bekti Istiyanto, M.Si., stated that preparations for the field assessment were carried out comprehensively, involving leadership, lecturers, educational staff, students, alumni, and graduate users. He stated that the accreditation process is not merely an administrative agenda, but part of the faculty's commitment to ensuring consistent and sustainable educational quality.

"For us, this field assessment is not just a grading process, but rather a space for reflection to see how far the Political Science Undergraduate Program is able to implement academic quality standards in practice. We want to demonstrate that UPNVJ's Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is prepared, from the curriculum and faculty resources to governance, student services, collaborative networks, and even the contributions of graduates to society," said Bekti.

He added that the Superior Accreditation target serves as an impetus for the entire FISIP academic community to continue strengthening its culture of quality. "We hope this visitation will yield the best results for the Political Science Undergraduate Program. More importantly, this entire process is part of our efforts to build a study program that is increasingly relevant, adaptive, and impactful for students, graduates, and stakeholders," he said.

The preparatory activities also involved elements of university and faculty leadership, including UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Dr. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, ST, MT, ranks of LPMPP, LPPM, FISIP leaders, departments, study programs, lecturers, quality control groups, and educational staff. This cross-element involvement shows that accreditation is not only the responsibility of study programs, but is a collective effort of the institution in maintaining the quality of higher education.

The Coordinator of the Undergraduate Political Science Study Program, Restu Rahmawati, S.IP., MA, and her team prepared various assessment requirements, from document mapping, strengthening academic data, preparing presentations, to technical coordination of the visitation. All stages were aimed at providing assessors with a comprehensive picture of the profile, achievements, strengths, and development plans of the UPNVJ Undergraduate Political Science Study Program.

In its Terms of Reference document, the Undergraduate Program in Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Nusa Tenggara Barat (UPNVJ), emphasized that LAMSPAK accreditation recognizes the quality and educational standards implemented by the study program. Accreditation is also viewed as a strategic instrument for enhancing the trust of the public, stakeholders, graduate users, and prospective students in the quality of education provided.

Beyond administrative aspects, field assessments also serve as an evaluation platform to assess the program's readiness to face various challenges, such as curriculum updates, human resource development, facility and infrastructure improvements, and strengthening networks with relevant institutions. Thus, the accreditation process extends beyond document assessment and becomes part of a sustainable quality culture.

From a university policy perspective, UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., places strengthening study program accreditation as part of the institution's commitment to building quality, adaptive, and impactful academic governance. The preparation of the LAMSPAK field assessment for the Political Science Undergraduate Study Program is a concrete manifestation of UPNVJ's efforts to strengthen its academic reputation, increase public trust, and ensure graduates possess competencies relevant to the nation's needs.
