Intensive Coordination Bears Fruit, UPNVJ Restores Non-ASN Lecturer Status at SISTER

UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) has made significant progress in resolving the governance of non-Civil Servant (non-ASN) lecturers. Through intensive coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), the status of UPNVJ's non-ASN lecturers has been successfully restored to their professional status in the Integrated Resource Information System (SISTER), from being listed as non-permanent lecturers to permanent lecturers.

The restoration of this status has a direct impact on the smooth running of the Lecturer Certification (Serdos) process and the reopening of access to apply for doctoral scholarships for lecturers who had previously experienced system administration problems.

The Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs of UPNVJ, Prof. Netti Herawati, M.Si., stated that this achievement was the result of collaborative work, intensive coordination, and support from various parties, especially the ranks of the Ministry of Education and Science and Technology who also oversaw the process of updating lecturer data at the national level.

"The success of this status restoration is inseparable from the full support of the central government. We greatly appreciate the attention and assistance of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, who have helped oversee this process. Thanks to this concern and synergy, the change in lecturer status at SISTER can be realized gradually. For lecturers who have not yet been granted a permanent lecturer status, UPNVJ is committed to ensuring that all non-civil servant lecturers receive their permanent lecturer status reinstated," said Prof. Netti.

Prof. Netti explained that the status recovery process at SISTER requires intensive administrative oversight. Previously, data updates faced obstacles due to automatic system rejections. To overcome this impasse, UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., demonstrated full dedication by taking proactive steps through the preparation and signing of a Leadership Statement Letter as a basis for strengthening the administration.

According to Prof. Netti, the restoration of this status comes at a crucial moment because it directly relates to the professional rights and academic career development of lecturers. Permanent lecturer status at SISTER is a crucial basis for the smooth payment of Lecturer Certification allowances and an administrative prerequisite for several national academic services.

"Thank God, this breakthrough comes at the perfect time. This status restoration immediately provides tangible benefits, namely establishing a legal basis for the smooth payment of Lecturer Certification allowances. Their academic rights and professional careers are now completely secure," said Prof. Netti.

As a follow-up to the restoration of SISTER status, UPNVJ is currently preparing to push the process of updating data to the Higher Education Database (PDDikti). This follow-up step is being carried out to ensure that lecturer data is recorded validly, synchronized, and integrated into the national higher education system.
