Public Relations of UPNVJ — The KARSA Team from the Internet of Things Student Study Group (KSM IoT) of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) won 1st place in the Jakarta–Tangerang Region at the Astra Honda SDGs Future Leaders 2026 event. This achievement was achieved after the KARSA Team passed the selection stages of innovation proposals, campaign videos, presentations, and a question and answer session with the panel of judges. The competition provided a space for students to present ideas and social solutions based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that have a direct impact on society.

In this competition, the KARSA Team adopted a social innovation approach developed through students' academic capacity and research interests in technology, particularly the Internet of Things. In the initial stage, the team submitted a proposal and campaign video as the basis for assessment for the regional selection. The selection results propelled the KARSA Team into the Top 6 for the Jakarta–Tangerang Region, before ultimately securing the top spot after presenting their innovation to a panel of judges.

The KARSA Team's success is a significant achievement for the UPNVJ Faculty of Engineering, demonstrating that students are not only capable of developing technology-based ideas but also directing them to address social needs. The Astra Honda SDGs Future Leaders 2026 event encourages students to present social contribution projects relevant to sustainable development issues, such as education, the environment, health, and community empowerment.

Nada Fitria Berliana, a member of the KARSA Team, an Electrical Engineering student from the class of 2024, expressed her gratitude for the achievement. "I'd like to inform you that, thank God, the KARSA Team from the KSM IoT Faculty of Engineering, UPN Veteran Jakarta, has won first place in the Jakarta–Tangerang Region at the Astra Honda SDGs Future Leaders 2026 event," she said.

The KARSA team is under the guidance of Subekti Ari Santoso, ST, M.Eng., a lecturer in Electrical Engineering at UPNVJ's Faculty of Engineering. Based on the assessment of proposals, presentations, and the Q&A session, the KARSA team won 1st place in the Jakarta–Tangerang Region and received Rp4,000,000 in compensation from the organizers.

This achievement strengthens UPNVJ's position as a National Defense Campus that encourages students to excel, innovate, and benefit society. From an institutional perspective, the KARSA Team's achievements align with UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm.'s commitment to strengthening a productive, collaborative, and impactful academic culture. This success is expected to inspire other UPNVJ students to continue developing innovations relevant to the nation's needs and the challenges of sustainable development.
