UPNVJ Student Berlian Rosalia Becomes 1st Miss West Jakarta 2026

Public Relations of UPNVJ – Berlian Rosalia Rumfabe, a student of the Communication Science Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (FISIP UPNVJ), successfully won the title of Vice 1 Miss West Jakarta 2026. The title was achieved on the final night of the 2026 West Jakarta Abang and None Election at the Ballroom of the Pullman Jakarta Central Park Hotel, Friday (17/7/2026). This achievement demonstrates the ability of UPNVJ students in developing academic competencies, leadership, public communication, and concern for Jakarta's culture and tourism.

Berlian earned the position after a selection and training process that lasted over a month. The initial selection process involved 128 participants, consisting of 50 prospective Abang (Big Brother) and 78 prospective None (None). From this process, 30 participants, or 15 pairs of finalists, were selected to participate in intensive training from June 8 to July 17, 2026.

During the briefing, the finalists received materials on governance, tourism, Betawi culture, ethics, and public communication techniques. This series of training sessions prepared the finalists to become young people capable of promoting the potential of tourism and the creative economy while contributing to the preservation of Betawi culture.

Berlian expressed her gratitude for the trust and achievements she had received. She attributed this success to hard work, consistency, and a willingness to continuously learn throughout all stages of the selection process.

"I am very grateful and proud to be trusted as the 2026 West Jakarta Miss 1. This journey has taught me that hard work, consistency, and the courage to continue learning are the keys to achieving dreams," Berlian said, Monday (20/7/2026).

He hopes to carry out these responsibilities well and bring the name of UPNVJ to various activities that benefit the community.

"I hope to bring good name to West Jakarta and UPN Veteran Jakarta and make real contributions through various programs that impact the community," he said.

As a Communication Studies student, Berlian is considered capable of applying public communication skills, building self-confidence, and effectively conveying ideas. Her experience in the Abang None competition also provided her with an opportunity to broaden her knowledge of culture, tourism, government, and the needs of the West Jakarta community.

The winners of the 2026 West Jakarta Abang and None Election will serve as tourism and cultural ambassadors. They are expected to partner with the government in promoting West Jakarta's potential, preserving Betawi culture, and supporting various development and creative economy programs.

UPNVJ commends Berlian's achievement as part of the development of student achievement in non-academic fields. The university is committed to providing space and support for students to develop their potential, character, leadership, and ability to contribute to society.

This achievement also aligns with UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm.'s focus on strengthening student achievement. Student achievements in sports, arts, economics, business, technology, culture, and community service are crucial to enhancing the university's reputation and producing graduates who excel, adapt, and possess the character to defend the nation.

The success of Berlian Rosalia Rumfabe is expected to inspire UPNVJ students to continue developing their academic and non-academic abilities, dare to participate in competitions, and make positive contributions that make their alma mater proud.
