Public Relations of UPNVJ – The Rector of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., officially opened the first day of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) UPNVJ 2026 at the Tennis Indoor Stadium Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (10/8/2026). The two-day activity, August 10–11, 2026, became the initial space for thousands of new students of the 2026/2027 Academic Year to get to know university life, UPNVJ values, and the character of National Defense. This year's PKKMB carries the theme "Young People with National Defense Character, Real Impact for the Nation".
The opening of PKKMB marks the beginning of the academic journey of new students as well as a momentum for UPNVJ to instill the foundations of character, integrity, discipline, responsibility, and social concern from the beginning of entering the university environment.
UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., considers PKKMB not merely a campus introduction activity, but a crucial part of building students' readiness for the educational process. In UPNVJ's official statement ahead of the event, Venus emphasized that new students need to gain positive initial experiences to prepare them to grow, learn, and contribute in their respective fields.
According to Venus, the National Defense Campus identity must be translated by students into actions relevant to today's lives. The values of National Defense go beyond conceptual understanding, but are embodied through integrity, discipline, responsibility, concern for others, a passion for learning, and the ability to use knowledge to benefit society.
This spirit aligns with the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB theme, "Young People with Character Defend the Nation, Making a Real Impact on the Nation." Through this theme, UPNVJ aims to emphasize that higher education is not merely about pursuing academic achievement, but also about developing a generation of young people with character and the awareness to play a role in society.
To enrich the insights of new students, the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB series presented speakers from various fields. Among them were the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D., Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Head of the National Narcotics Agency of the Republic of Indonesia Suyudi Ario Seto, educator Jerome Polin Sijabat, B.Eng., and social activist Inayah Wulandari Wahid.
The presence of figures from the fields of government, education, science, employment, social, and creativity is designed to provide students with a broader perspective on future challenges, self-development, social responsibility, and the contribution of the younger generation to the nation.
In addition to featuring national figures, the 2026 UPNVJ PKKMB also provided a platform for outstanding students from the Faculties of Social and Political Sciences, Medicine, Computer Science, Law, and Engineering to share their experiences. This student involvement is expected to provide a firsthand overview of academic opportunities, achievements, organizational opportunities, and competency development during their studies at UPNVJ.
