UPNVJ Public Relations – JAKARTA – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) strengthened its commitment as an Impact Campus through the implementation of UPNVJ Community Territory (UCT) Day 2026 held by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) in collaboration with the UCT Center at Nusantara 1 UPNVJ, Thursday (3/9/2026). This activity serves as a forum for disseminating community service results while expanding collaboration between universities, regional governments, communities, and stakeholders around the campus.
The UCT program implements UPNVJ's commitment to implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly community service, with a focus on providing tangible benefits to the community within a 3–5 kilometer radius of the campus. Through UCT, UPNVJ presents a needs-based collaboration model that connects academic potential with real-world issues.
The Head of LPPM UPNVJ, Dr. Sri Lestari Wahyuningroem, said that UCT is not only a community service program, but also a space for ongoing collaboration between the campus and the community.
"UCT is not just a community service program, but a space for building collaboration between UPNVJ and the community and stakeholders in the surrounding areas. We want to ensure that the knowledge, innovation, and resources of the university provide direct benefits to the community," said Dr. Sri Lestari.
He believes the sustainability of UCT programs depends heavily on synergy between universities and stakeholders. Through UCT Day, UPNVJ not only highlights the achievements of existing programs but also opens up opportunities for developing new collaborations based on community needs.
The UCT Center itself was inaugurated in December 2025 as a collaborative hub supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of various community empowerment programs. The center is expected to serve as a liaison between the UPNVJ academic community and the community, regional government, and other strategic partners.
Dissemination of Community Service Programs Based on Community Needs
One of the main agenda items of UCT Day 2026 was the dissemination of community service activities under the UPNVJ Community Territory Scheme. In this session, several UPNVJ lecturers presented the results of the community service programs they had implemented with the community.
The first program was delivered by Dr. dr. Tiwuk Susantiningsih, M.Biomed., Sp.KKLP through an activity entitled "Training on Making Chicken and Moringa Leaf Porridge as MP-ASI for Babies for PKK Cadre Mothers of Pangkalan Jati Village, Cinere, Depok." The program focuses on increasing community understanding regarding fulfilling infant nutrition through the use of local food ingredients.
Next, Prof. Dr. Ir. Netti Herawati, M.Si., explained the “First 1000 Days of Life (HPK)” program, which emphasizes the importance of fulfilling nutrition, health, and the role of families in supporting children's growth and development from the early stages of life.
In the cultural sector, Dwi Fajar Saputra, S.Sos., MM delivered the program “Strategy for Managing Cultural Knowledge of the Indonesian Kite Collection through Curation and Preservation Activities at the Indonesian Kite Museum.” This program is a form of UPNVJ's contribution in maintaining the sustainability of cultural knowledge through collection management and preservation.
Meanwhile, Sigit Pradana, ST., MT., explained the program "Optimizing the UPN Veteran Jakarta Campus Waste Bank as a Waste Collection Hub for the Pondok Labu Village Community." This activity demonstrated UPNVJ's contribution in encouraging sustainable environmental management through campus-community collaboration.
These four programs reflect the scope of UPNVJ's service, which covers various sectors, from public health, family resilience, cultural preservation, to environmental management.
Strengthening Networks through Stakeholder Dialogue and MSME Bazaars
In addition to disseminating community service programs, UCT Day 2026 also served as a space for dialogue through panel discussions and stakeholder responses guided by the Head of the UPNVJ Community Service Center, Dr. Firlia Ayu Arini, M.KM.
The forum provided input from various parties to evaluate program implementation and identify community needs as a basis for developing subsequent community service activities.
UCT Center Coordinator, Dwi Arwandi Yogi Saputra, SKM., MKM, explained that the UCT Center was designed as an interactive space that brings together academics with the community and regional partners.
"The UCT Center serves as a platform to strengthen coordination, communication, and program implementation so that community service can be more focused and have a sustainable impact," he explained.
The implementation of UCT Day also presents an MSME and community Bazaar as part of an effort to strengthen community economic empowerment while expanding interaction between the campus and the surrounding environment.
UPNVJ Encourages Campuses That Provide Real Impact
Through UCT Day 2026, UPNVJ emphasized the strategic role of universities in providing science-based solutions to society. UCT serves as an instrument to ensure that campuses provide direct benefits to their surrounding communities.
UPNVJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA., Comm., emphasized that the Impact Campus concept is UPNVJ's commitment to providing higher education that not only produces superior graduates, but also makes real contributions through research, innovation, and community service.
According to Prof. Anter Venus, collaboration between universities and the community is key to delivering programs relevant to the needs of the times. By strengthening the UCT Center, UPNVJ continues to foster an open, inclusive academic ecosystem capable of providing sustainable benefits to the community.
As part of the UCT Day 2026 series, UPNVJ also opened a free health checkup service for the general public on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM WIB at the First Clinic of UPN "Veteran" Jakarta, next to Beska Bean. Services available include blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid tests, as well as breast cancer risk screening through breast self-examination (SADARI).
This activity is a concrete manifestation of UPNVJ's commitment to expanding the benefits of the campus's existence and strengthening the role of higher education as a strategic partner for the community in realizing sustainable development.
