Mulawarman University Visits UPNVJ to Discuss Strengthening Academic Governance and Services

UPNVJ Public Relations – The National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) received an official visit from Mulawarman University (Unmul) to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience in academic service management, Thursday (10/22/2026). The meeting, which took place in the Nusantara 1 Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Jenderal Sudirman Building, UPNVJ Pondok Labu Campus, Jakarta, brought together the leadership and academic administrators of both universities. Through institutional introductions, material presentations, and discussions, both parties discussed academic service practices to support improving the quality of higher education services.

The visit provided a forum for UPNVJ and Mulawarman University to exchange information on academic governance and identify service approaches that can be developed to meet the needs of each institution. The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen communication between academic administrators in addressing the increasingly dynamic demands of higher education services.

UPNVJ's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Henry Binsar Hamonangan Sitorus, emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities as a means of sharing academic management practices. He stated that improving service quality requires openness to the experiences and input of other institutions.

"Academic services are a crucial aspect in supporting the quality of higher education. Through this meeting, we can share experiences, observe existing practices, and gain input to continuously improve the quality of services to students and the academic community," said Henry.

He believes that exchanging experiences through official visits can broaden the perspectives of higher education administrators in evaluating and developing academic services. Thus, inter-institutional collaboration is not only oriented toward institutional relationships but can also benefit the quality of services provided to students.

Meanwhile, Mulawarman University's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Lambang Subagiyo, M.Sc., attended the meeting with a group of academic administrators and information technology professionals. The presence of these two representatives was part of Mulawarman University's efforts to obtain references regarding the implementation of academic services at UPNVJ.

As part of the series of activities, the Head of the Bureau of Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation at UPNVJ, Dr. Asropi, SIP, M.Sc., delivered an introduction to the institution and presented materials related to academic services. This session provided an overview of the implementation of academic services at UPNVJ as a basis for information exchange with the Mulawarman University delegation.

The meeting then continued with a discussion and question-and-answer session involving representatives from both universities. The dialogue provided an opportunity to discuss various aspects of academic service management, share experiences, and identify practices that could potentially serve as references for service development at each institution.

In addition to strengthening knowledge exchange, this visit reflects the importance of inter-university communication in building effective, adaptive, and responsive educational governance. The experiences of both institutions are expected to provide input for improving management efficiency and the quality of services for the academic community.
