UPNVJ Public Relations – The Rector of the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., reviewed the development of campus parking facilities as part of efforts to strengthen support services for the academic community. This review affirmed UPNVJ's commitment to providing more spacious, comfortable, safe, orderly parking facilities, integrated with a continuously improved cashless payment system.
This step is also part of the transformation of campus facility management to be more modern and oriented towards user comfort.
Currently, UPNVJ is preparing two new parking areas. The first is APU 2 on Jalan Rangu, covering approximately 2,000 square meters with a capacity of approximately 600 motorcycles. The second area is located at the rear gate, covering approximately 5,000 square meters and designed to accommodate approximately 1,500 motorcycles and 50 cars. Both areas are targeted to be operational by mid-May to meet the growing parking needs on campus.
This development continues UPNVJ's efforts to expand parking capacity and modernize the campus parking system. Previously, UPNVJ had also emphasized a more structured parking management strategy supported by technology, including the implementation of an automated gate mechanism as part of the campus service transformation.
In the APU 2 area, the facilities provided will not only serve as a parking area, but will also include a cafe, a garden, and a three-on-three basketball court. Meanwhile, the parking area at the rear of the campus will be supported by an internal access road connected to the University's Walk concept. In the future, the area is also planned to include a food court to support campus activities.
This concept aligns with the development direction of the campus land previously designated by UPNVJ as a parking area and multifunctional public space. According to the university's official publication, the development area is designed not only to address parking needs but also to provide supporting facilities such as interaction spaces, sports areas, and more representative public areas for students, faculty, and educational staff.
With the availability of these two additional parking areas, reorganizing on-campus parking will be much easier. Going forward, parking spots along internal campus roads will be gradually limited and relocated to these two new parking areas. This policy is expected to reduce traffic congestion on the main campus corridors while creating a more orderly and safe environment.
The arrangement will also support the development of University's Walk, a pedestrian-friendly campus corridor that runs from the Faculty of Economics and Business to the rear campus exit. This corridor is expected to enhance the campus's image as more humane, healthy, and comfortable for the entire academic community.
UPNVJ Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, previously emphasized that campus infrastructure development must truly address the real needs of the academic community.
According to him, facilities are not just about capacity, but also about providing a good service experience, a well-organized environment, and support for the Tri Dharma activities of higher education. Therefore, UPNVJ continues to gradually strengthen supporting facilities so that institutional development focuses not only on academic achievement but also on the quality of basic services directly experienced by the campus community.
The development of these two new parking areas is a strategic step towards comprehensively restructuring campus mobility. With a more orderly parking system, expanded parking areas, enhanced cashless services, and the construction of pedestrian-friendly corridors, UPNVJ affirms its commitment to building a modern, efficient, and increasingly comfortable campus environment for the entire academic community.
