Jakarta, Ministry of Education and Culture --- The Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) College Program launched by President Joko Widodo is proof of the presence of the state to help its citizens obtain the right to education up to university. The state exists to support the younger generation, future leaders, who have potential but need financial support so they can have equal access to higher education.
Through the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), the government is targeting 818,000 students to receive KIP Lectures in 2020. KIP Lectures are grouped into KIP Lectures and KIP Affirmation Lectures which include support for persons with disabilities, participants in the Higher Education Affirmation Program (ADik) for Indigenous Papuans in the Papua and West Papua regions, the 3T regions (frontier, outermost, or lagging behind), as well as areas affected by natural disasters or social conflicts.
"This number consists of 418,000 on-going Bidikmisi students in 2016-2019 and KIP Lectures for prospective new students of 400,000 students," said Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Ainun Na'im at the Ministry of Education and Culture Office in Jakarta, Monday (17/2/ 2020).
Bidikmisi Sustainability Guarantee and Affirmation at this time ( ongoing )
The Ministry of Education and Culture guarantees the continuity of the studies of current Bidikmisi and Affirmation recipient students (ongoing) to continue to receive educational assistance until the study period is completed.
“There is no change whatsoever to the education assistance program that is currently being received. According to the plan, the even semester Bidikmisi funds will be disbursed in early March 2020,” explained Secretary General Ainun Na'im.
Prospective New Students who need KIP Lectures
For prospective students who come from underprivileged families and graduate from high school, vocational, MA/equivalent in 2018-2020, they are welcome to register to get KIP Lectures starting early March 2020. Registration is done online on the http://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud page .go.id/.
The data needed to register for KIP Lectures is the same as the requirements for obtaining a Bidikmisi, namely the National Identity Number (NIK), National Student Registration Number (NISN), National School Principal Number (NPSN), and e-mail address. After being verified by the system, candidates will receive a registration number and an access code to register at State Universities (PTN).
In the event that prospective students come from underprivileged families but do not yet have KIP or parents/guardians of students who have not been registered as recipients of the Prosperous Family Card (KKS), it is still possible to receive KIP Lectures as long as they pass the selection and verification of economic conditions by the relevant tertiary institution.
SNMPTN Pathway Registration
Prospective students who do not need KIP Lecture support and wish to register for PTN entrance selection through the National Selection for Entering PTN (SNMPTN) can register until February 27 2020. However, specifically for prospective students who need KIP Lecture support and want to register for PTN entrance selection through the SNMPTN, then please register on the KIP Lecture page first to get a registration number and access code. Registration can be made in early March 2020 until March 31, 2020.
"For prospective students who need KIP Lecture support, it is hoped that they will remain calm and monitor developments on the Ministry of Education and Culture channel. More complete information regarding KIP Lectures will be announced in early March," concluded the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture. (*)
