Joining IEVP, UPNVJ Chancellor Appreciates KPU Integrity in 2024 Election

Public Relations UPNVJ - Not long ago, the Jakarta "Veteran" National Development University (UPNVJ) participated in the 2024 Indonesia Election Visit Program (IEVP) agenda held by the General Election Commission (KPU).

"We were invited by the KPU on the IEVP agenda. We were participants involving various institutions from various countries. There were 181 institutions invited, one of which was UPNVJ," said UPNVJ Chancellor Dr. Anter Venus when met at the UPNVJ Pondok Labu campus on Thursday, February 15 2024.

Venus also said that there were friendly countries invited to the event. This aims to enable them to observe the process of holding General Elections (Pemilu) in Indonesia. This participation is the first time for UPNVJ.

"This is the first time that UPNVJ has been directly involved in following and observing how the 2024 General Election is implemented, starting from the initial stage of being given an explanation of the work system and explaining all aspects of the Election work, to the evaluation process of the Election implementation," he said.

"In my opinion, this is a good program because holding elections is a very important matter, and here the KPU shows that they have high legitimacy and integrity. So that everyone understands this, this is announced to all related parties because there should be no accusations "from outside parties that the implementation of elections in our country has no integrity or its validity is questionable," explained Venus.

The UPNVJ Chancellor also said that there were several election observers from various countries who discussed hoaxes, potential obstacles and also the challenges of elections in the current digital era.

"It is very useful and opens our horizons quite widely to understand the electoral system," he added.

Not only that, on the agenda the KPU also discussed the applications used by the KPU, including information systems.

Venus said the KPU wanted to ensure that the 2024 elections were held well and had high integrity. The KPU conveyed this to all representatives of institutions, institutions and universities who were present.

"This is a very good, complete, integrated and accessible national and international outreach and gives us an understanding that this is a good step taken by the KPU," he said.
