HumasUPNVJ - The Chancellor of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., was officially awarded the title of Extraordinary Honorary Member by the Legion of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI). This award was given in an honorary ceremony held at the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Mineral Technology, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta on Friday, May 2, 2025.
The award was presented directly by the General Chairperson of the DPP LVRI, Lieutenant General TNI (ret.) HBL Mantiri, as a form of recognition of the strategic role of the rectors of UPN "Veteran" in instilling the values of struggle and the spirit of defending the country in the world of higher education.
Prof. Anter Venus welcomed this award as a form of deep respect for the dedication of the academic community in preserving the legacy of the nation's struggle.
"The appointment as an extraordinary member of LVRI shows the appreciation of the LVRI management for all the efforts and dedication of the rectors in preserving and actualizing the Spirit, Spirit and Values (JSN) of 45," he said.
Furthermore, Prof. Venus emphasized the importance of synergy between educational institutions and veterans in reviving the spirit of nationalism among the younger generation.
"The awarding of this membership shows the strong relationship between UPN Veteran and LVRI. Both strengthen each other, and LVRI becomes a source of inspiration and a model of national defense behavior, and UPN campus as the heir and guardian of the implementation of national defense," he said.
In addition to Prof. Venus, two other UPN "Veteran" rectors also received similar titles, namely the Rector of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Irhas Effendi, M.Si, and the Rector of UPN Veteran East Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Fauzi, MMT., IPU. The three are considered to have a high commitment in maintaining the fighting spirit of veterans through strengthening character and national insight in the campus environment.
The award ceremony was also attended by the leadership of LVRI and the academic community of UPN "Veteran" from all over Indonesia. Through this award, LVRI hopes that the values of patriotism and the spirit of National Defense will continue to be the soul of the national education system, inspiring the young generation of Indonesia to remain resilient and have character.
