HumasUPNVJ - The Faculty of Health Sciences of the National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (FIKES UPNVJ) again held a disaster dimension health simulation attended by 320 students from the Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Physiotherapy Diploma and Nutrition Bachelor study programs. This activity aims to improve the preparedness and competence of students in the health sector in dealing with disaster situations.

On this occasion, the Chancellor of UPNVJ, Prof. Anter Venus said that this activity is part of the implementation of National Defense, Interprofessional Education (IPE), and Interprofessional Collaboration (IPC).

"This activity is a real form of UPN Veteran Jakarta's commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically superior, but also innovative, competitive, have a strong identity as national defense cadres and have an impact," said Venus in her remarks at the FIKES Ceremony Field, UPNVJ Campus, Limo, Depok, West Java, Monday, May 12, 2025.

"In facing the increasing complexity of disaster challenges in Indonesia, the need for competent health human resources who are able to work across professions is becoming increasingly urgent," he said.

Venus also said that this simulation is not just a technical exercise, but also an interprofessional learning space that encourages nursing, public health, nutrition, and other health professions students to understand each other's roles. They are also encouraged to coordinate in emergency situations, and work together effectively for the safety of the community.

This is where the essence of IPE and IPC is truly applied, not just theory in the classroom, said Venus.

The Chancellor expressed his highest appreciation because through this activity, UPNVJ will be officially registered in the Health Reserve Personnel Information System of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia as the Central Crisis Health Reserve Team.

This status not only increases the existence of the institution at the national level, but also constitutes a real actualization of the role of higher education in disaster mitigation and response efforts in Indonesia.

"We believe that activities like this will be the first step towards the formation of a higher health education ecosystem that is adaptive, collaborative, and resilient in facing crises. Hopefully today's simulation activity will provide valuable experience and have a long-term impact for all participants," concluded Venus.
