Synergy of Menwa Yon-6 UPNVJ Alumni and Academic Community Realizes Real Action of Caring for Youth

 

HumasUPNVJ - A social service activity entitled Caring for Youth was held at the Taruna Jaya-1 Youth Social Welfare Center (PSBR), East Jakarta on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This event was initiated by the Alumni Corps of Menwa Yon-6, National Development University "Veteran" Jakarta (KEREN) as part of a work program in the social sector, as well as strengthening the values of national defense, humanity, and the spirit of mutual cooperation that have been instilled since campus.

In collaboration with the UPNVJ academic community, this activity is real evidence of the alumni's contribution to the character development of the younger generation, especially socially fostered teenagers.

Present at this activity were a number of figures, including the Head of PSBR TJ-1 Mr. Haikal Sodri, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UPNVJ Mr. M. Oktaviandri, Secretary of the Pulo Gebang Village Mrs. Oknata Alvia, representatives of the Koramil, and alumni of Menwa Yon-6 UPNVJ from various classes, such as Luthfi R. Sibarani, M. Rusdy, and Dwi Septiarini.

In addition to education and donations, this event was also combined with the presentation of award certificates to the speakers, as well as the distribution of prayer equipment assistance in the form of sarongs, mukena, and tumblers as many as 100 pieces to social assistance residents (WBS). Funds amounting to Rp14,900,000 were successfully collected from alumni and stakeholders, and were used transparently to support the smooth running of this activity.

The committee chair, Harinah Tati, expressed her appreciation for the enthusiasm of all parties and hoped that this activity would be the beginning of greater synergy in the future, including a long-term development plan for the fostered youth community.

"We believe that the dedication of the UPNVJ Yon-6 Menwa Alumni Corps to fellow human beings (WBS) is not only an obligation, but a calling of the heart," said Haris Iriyanto, Head of the UPNVJ Yon-6 Menwa Alumni Corps.

This activity confirms that the values of national defense are not only relevant on the battlefield, but also in society—through real action, empathy, and ongoing commitment.
