UPNVJ Affirms National Defense Identity Through Routine Flag Ceremonies

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) continues to affirm its identity as a National Defense Campus by holding regular flag ceremonies. This activity not only honors the national symbol but also serves as a means of internalizing national values for the entire academic community.

The Chancellor of UPNVJ, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, who on this occasion was represented by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Information Systems, Dr. dr. Ria Maria Theresa, acted as the ceremony instructor on Thursday, July 17, 2025 in the courtyard of the UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine Building.

In his remarks, he emphasized that the flag ceremony is an important part of the spirit of defending the country which is the identity of the campus.

"Through this activity, we want to build the character of a young generation who loves their homeland, is disciplined, and has a strong spirit of nationalism," said Ria.

In addition, Ria also explained a number of proud academic and institutional achievements.

"The Undergraduate Law Study Program has successfully achieved an Excellent Accreditation rating from BAN-PT for the 2025–2030 period, a clear demonstration of its commitment to quality and extraordinary dedication. In the area of academic development, we are also grateful for the receipt of the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science and Technology for the opening of the Master's Program in Nursing, which was presented directly by the Acting Head of LLDikti Region III to the university leadership on June 20, 2025," he said.

Ria also explained that the LPMPP Learning Development Center had received a Disability Facilitation Grant from the Directorate General of Higher Education as a continuation of the establishment of the Disability Services Unit last year. Meanwhile, the LPMPP E-learning Center also received a strategic grant to develop collaborative digital learning, specifically for the Electrical Engineering Undergraduate Program.

In the international scope, UPNVJ is preparing a Joint Degree program between the International Relations Undergraduate Study Program and Kazakh Ablai Khan University.

"We extend our deepest appreciation to the UPNVJ Office of International Affairs (KUI) for the various strategic achievements achieved by mid-2025," said Ria.

From exploring collaboration with the Management and Science University in Malaysia to an academic visit from the University of Poitiers in France, UPNVJ has opened up opportunities for faculty mobility and cross-faculty collaboration. Furthermore, UPNVJ has hosted five exchange students from Kazakhstan, who not only studied for one semester but also actively participated in diplomatic discussions and cultural activities.

KUI also helped promote ASIIN international accreditation for FIKES, held a socialization of study scholarships to the US with the US Embassy, and a debriefing forum with the BSKLN of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen students' diplomatic insight.

The achievements of UPNVJ students have also attracted attention. "UPNVJ students have demonstrated their achievements in various prestigious events, participating in two provincial-level competitions, 40 national-level competitions, and 24 international competitions," said Ria.

Six groups qualified for the Student Creativity Program (PKM), one group received funding from the Student Organization Development Program (PPK Ormawa), and four FEB groups received P2MW (Entrepreneurship Development Program) for entrepreneurship development. "All of these achievements are the result of collective hard work and clear evidence that UPNVJ remains committed to developing a superior, creative young generation ready to compete at the national and international levels," Ria concluded.
