HumasUPNVJ - The Jakarta Veteran Dance Arts Student Activity Unit (STVJ) of the Jakarta Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) won 2nd place in the modern dance category at the 6th Widyatama International Competition (WINACTION).
This event is an annual international competition held in a lively manner in May 2025, at the Widyatama University campus, Bandung, with a total prize of IDR 122 million plus a scholarship bonus.
Radin, a UPNVJ student and the person in charge of STVJ, explained that WINACTION is a competition open to high school students, college students, and the general public.
This year, there are 20 categories of competition, covering academic, art, culture, and technology. This event is not only a competition, but also a means of collaboration and exchange of ideas between young generations from various regions and backgrounds.
Although this event was the first for STVJ UPNVJ, it did not prevent Radin and the team from showing their best performance and winning 2nd place. Radin also said that in this event the strategy the team used was to use concepts and choreography that they had already mastered.
"With the formation of the team through a strict selection so as to produce a team with a strong foundation. Using tricking techniques that have been mastered and choosing costumes that are attractive and eye-catching to attract the attention of the jury as one of our strategies," said Radin.
"STVJ in this period has a vision and target to enlarge the scale of the competition. This competition is included in one of our efforts to enlarge the scale to international. So when we win, it is something that makes us happy and motivates us to achieve increasing achievements in the future," he added.
Radin also hopes that the footsteps of him and his team can also be followed by other UPNVJ students as a form of concrete motivation to contribute to achieving and making UPNVJ's name famous in the international arena.
"Encouragement for friends in achieving their achievements! Expand your flying hours, dare to appear, compete and win!," concluded Radin.
