UPNVJ Promotes Village Transformation Through MICMAC Training

 

In the framework of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, lecturers of the Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business, National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a MICMAC Training activity: Identification and Strengthening of Village Competitiveness on Friday, July 25, 2025.

This activity is part of the lecturer community service (abdimas) preparation program and is focused on training in the application of the MICMAC method for lecturers in the Accounting Department.

Efforts to accelerate village development continue to be carried out through a more systematic and science-based approach.

This activity presented resource person Dr. Indri Arrafi, SE, MM, who has experience in applying the MICMAC method in various community service activities.

"This training aims to improve the capacity of Accounting Department lecturers in implementing community service activities. We are proud that the speakers present today have implemented this method in real-world community service and have successfully produced outputs published in internationally reputable journals (Scopus).

"This activity also serves as a platform for knowledge sharing, so that lecturers can inspire each other and present impactful and high-quality community service activities," said Dr. Amrie Firmansyah, Head of the Accounting Department, in his remarks.

The MICMAC Training held by FEB UPNVJ aims to bring together representatives of village governments, community empowerment activists, lecturers, and students in one learning forum.

Participants were invited to analyze various key factors that influence village development, ranging from infrastructure, education, local economy, to socio-cultural aspects.

In the presentation and training session, Dr. Indri Arrafi comprehensively explained the stages of MICMAC analysis and its implementation in mapping the factors driving village competitiveness.

One of the case studies presented is the community service activities in Sade Village, East Nusa Tenggara, conducted by Dr. Indri Arrafi, which resulted in a publication entitled "Application of Multicriteria Decision Making in the Analysis of Inequality and Culture in Sade." This output has been published in an internationally reputable journal (Scopus).

The activity closed with the presentation of certificates of appreciation by the Head of the Accounting Department to the speakers and moderators as a form of appreciation for their contribution to this activity.
