UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) celebrated the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia by holding a Traditional Costume Parade on Sunday, August 17, 2025. The event, attended by lecturers and educational staff, was held on campus as a demonstration of their love for Indonesian culture and to foster a spirit of nationalism.
The parade showcased a variety of traditional clothing from various regions of Indonesia, including kebaya, batik, and traditional attire from Betawi, Riau, Palembang, Bali, Aceh, Kalimantan, and Papua. The participants, consisting of lecturers and educational staff, confidently displayed the beauty and uniqueness of their respective regional traditional attire.
UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, in his remarks expressed his appreciation for the competition. "Indonesia is rich in cultural diversity. This traditional costume parade not only celebrates independence but also strengthens unity in diversity," he said.
The parade atmosphere was even more lively with enthusiastic applause and cheers from the audience. This event served not only as a competition but also as an educational platform for recognizing and preserving Indonesian cultural heritage within the UPNVJ community.
This competition is part of a series of commemorations for the 80th Indonesian Independence Day at UPNVJ, which also includes a flag ceremony, the Satyalancana Karya Satya awards ceremony, and awards for retired employees. This traditional costume parade is expected to strengthen a sense of nationalism, togetherness, and pride in Indonesian culture.
