UPNVJ Public Relations – Behind a series of technological innovations and a passion for building businesses, Hervin Abydzar, A.Md.Kom., a graduate of the Information Systems study program, has emerged as an inspiring figure at the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta (UPNVJ). He was selected as a Karya Mahardika for his 25 achievements in application and business development, although only 11 of these achievements are officially recorded on the UPNVJ website.
For Hervin, the motivation to achieve comes from a vision for the future. "I've noticed that people who are accepted to work at quality companies usually have outstanding values , both academic and non-academic. I happen to enjoy development and business, so I try to improve my values there," he said.
When allocating his time, Hervin applies the Pareto principle: focusing on priorities that have the greatest impact. "I prioritize those that require 20% of the effort but have 80% of the impact ," he explained.
One memorable experience was participating in the Google Solution Challenge. At the time, Hervin was at his lowest point and looking for a way to recover. "I saw the competition poster on Instagram and decided to join. I made it to the national level and even got the chance to perform at Google's offices. Thankfully, I also made it to the top 100 internationally," he recalled.
Despite the challenges, the experience was a turning point for Hervin to move forward. Now, after graduating, he is committed to sharing his knowledge with his friends, both from UPNVJ and other universities. "I want them to be able to explore their potential through competitions. I'm also open to the possibility that the university still needs my resources, as I've reached this point thanks to UPNVJ's support," he said.
As a Karya Mahardika award recipient, Hervin advised students to be brave and try. "Just try. Once you do, you'll open many doors that were previously closed. Don't be afraid of failure, because what makes us successful is not giving up," he said.
