UPNVJ Faculty of Medicine Signs Collaboration with Robotics Industry

UPNVJ Public Relations - The Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) of the National Development University (UPN) Veteran Jakarta signed a cooperation agreement with PT Surya Sarana Dinamika, an industrial automation and robotics distributor, on Thursday (October 2, 2025) at the Mega Sunter Office Building in South Sunter, North Jakarta. The industrial visit and signing opened up internship, research, and joint project opportunities for students.

Fajar Suryawan, SE, M.Si., President Director of PT Surya Sarana Dinamika, expressed the company's openness to undergraduate students. "Students need practical experience in the industry, not just lecture theory," he said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science (FIK) at UPNVJ emphasized the benefits of collaboration. "This is the implementation of student internships and lecturer training, producing graduates ready for the digital era. Internships are for knowledgeable students, and undergraduate graduates become conceptors, not operators," he said.

A management representative from PT Surya Sarana Dinamika welcomed the initiative. "Collaboration provides practical experience and contributes to technological innovation," he said.

The activity continued with a facility tour, where students observed robots and discussed future IT trends and challenges. This collaboration aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, which encourages education-industry collaboration. Data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2024 noted that internship programs increase the competitiveness of IT graduates by up to 25 percent.

This initiative strengthens the ongoing relationship between education, research, and community service in the field of automation.
