UPNVJ Public Relations – Participants in the Fun Walk at Ragunan Zoo expressed their satisfaction with the opening event of the 48th anniversary celebrations of the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta (UPNVJ). Nearly 800 members of the academic community participated in the 3-kilometer walk on Friday (November 14, 2025). They noted that the event strengthened relationships and promoted healthy living.
The morning activity began in a fresh atmosphere in the green area of Ragunan. Lecturers, educational staff, students, and the Head of the UPNVJ Alumni Association walked along a leisurely route. The Fun Walk served as a gathering platform in keeping with the theme of its 48th Anniversary: UPNVJ Continues to Transform and Make an Impact.
Safirah, an education staff member, appreciated the opportunity to meet colleagues from across units. "The event was interesting. Besides sports, we had the opportunity to meet and chat with education staff from other work units," she said.
Meanwhile, Witanti, a lecturer at UPNVJ, expressed that activities like this can provide renewed energy amidst the busy campus workload. "Through these activities, we can gather, exercise, and have fun. This moment makes us even more enthusiastic about returning to work," she said.
The participating students also welcomed the activity positively. They found the Fun Walk a fun way to bond with lecturers and other educational staff in a more relaxed manner. "The event was impressive because it strengthened the bonds between students, lecturers, and campus staff. We truly blended together here," said Rayhan, a student participant.
For many participants, the Fun Walk is not just a sporting activity, but also a symbol of UPNVJ's solidarity and spirit as a National Defense Campus that continues to transform and impact society.
"Hopefully, more students will participate in activities like this, fostering closer relationships between lecturers, administrative staff, and students. From my perspective, activities like this demonstrate that lecturers and administrative staff can interact warmly. This creates a closer relationship between students, faculty, and administrative staff," said Ryo, another student participant.
The excitement culminated in a drawing of 400 door prizes from sponsors including BTN, BTN Syariah, BSI, Bank Muamalat, BNI, and Bank Mandiri. The grand prizes included an electric bicycle and a double-door refrigerator.
UPNVJ stated that the Fun Walk reflects the campus' commitment to national defense in fostering a culture of health and solidarity. The activity serves as a positive opening toward the culmination of the anniversary celebrations on November 30, 2025.
