UPNVJ and Thaksin University Sign LoI, Strengthening Indonesia-Thailand Academic Cooperation

UPNVJ Public Relations – Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) is strengthening its international network. UPNVJ signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Thaksin University, Thailand, on Thursday (November 13, 2025). This signing opens opportunities for academic collaboration, research, and student and faculty exchanges.

Dr. Bambang Susanto, MA, Head of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), and Dr. Pittayatorm Kaewong, Dean of the International College at Thaksin University, signed the document in person at the 2025 Indonesia Education Fair (IEF) at the Parichat Auditorium, Thaksin University, Songkhla, Thailand. The LoI forms the foundation for a strategic two-way partnership.

The two universities agreed to prioritize four main areas. First, developing joint academic programs. Second, improving the quality of higher education. Third, student and faculty exchanges. Fourth, collaborative research and other scientific activities.

The LoI document allows for a rapid transition to a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This next step will be finalized within the next six months.

The UPNVJ-Thaksin University collaboration reinforces UPNVJ's vision as a globally competitive National Defense Campus. This collaboration expands UPNVJ's international partner list, which now includes dozens of universities worldwide.
