UPNVJ Holds Non-Military National Defense Training, Campus and Community Organization Synergy Strengthens National Character

UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a National Defense Gathering on Saturday (11/29/2025) in the Nusantara 1 Meeting Room of UPNVJ. This activity involved the UPNVJ National Defense Study Center (Puska) and representatives of national defense community organizations (ormas) throughout Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek). The goal was to strengthen the understanding and practice of national defense values through inter-institutional synergy, in line with Presidential Regulation Number 115 of 2022 concerning the Development of National Defense Awareness.

UPNVJ Rector Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., in his remarks emphasized that national defense is not solely the responsibility of the government or universities, but of all elements of society. "Through this collaboration, we can broaden understanding, strengthen character, and foster awareness of national values," he said. He believes such activities will foster an inclusive, progressive, and sustainable national defense movement to safeguard Indonesia's integrity and progress.

UPNVJ, founded on the spirit of national defense, has implemented a non-military approach from the outset. This approach instills national values through education, community service, and character building. The gathering was enthusiastic, encompassing experience sharing sessions, discussions on the values of national defense, and team building. The event also strengthened relationships between community organizations, thereby further supporting the vision and mission of national defense.

This collaboration between campuses and community organizations serves as a concrete example of efforts to strengthen national identity amidst the challenges of globalization. This gathering is expected to provide ongoing momentum for UPNVJ and partner organizations to implement national defense in their daily lives, for the sake of a resilient and patriotic young generation.
