Public Relations of UPNVJ - Students of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program at the Jakarta Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) held a counseling session on environmental conditions with the theme "TANGGAPORI: Environmental Response Through the Biopore Movement to Prevent Drought". This activity took place at the Al-Istiqomah Prayer Room, RT 02 RW 02, Limo Village on November 9, 2025. Guided by Ns. Laksita Barbara, S.Kep., MN., the counseling session targeted 15 local residents and the RT Head to increase environmental awareness.
This outreach is crucial because drought often triggers health problems such as acute respiratory infections (ARI). Students emphasized the biopore movement as a simple solution for rainwater absorption. Participants gained practical insights they can implement at home.
The series began with a pre-test to assess baseline knowledge. Topics covered drought, acute respiratory infection (ARI) management, the principles of biopores, and how to create infiltration holes. Interactive sessions included questions and answers and educational videos.
The event included free health checks: blood pressure, uric acid levels, and weight measurements. A post-test recorded an increase in participants' understanding. The event concluded with souvenirs and certificates from the neighborhood association (RT) head.
A live demonstration of biopore hole construction sparked high enthusiasm. This initiative supports environmental resilience in densely populated settlements.
