UPNVJ Public Relations - Two students from the Faculty of Law at the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ), Rama Ahmad Raja Maranay and Mahia Albar Ikwanto, participated in a clarification meeting and negotiation of an addendum to the Indonesian Pavilion management contract at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan. This involvement occurred through the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) Program as part of the Loys & Co legal consultant team, where they assisted in the process of adjusting contract clauses after the event, which ran from April to October 2025.
This experience strengthens students' competency in international business contract law and dispute resolution, while supporting an understanding of global legal practices for multi-billion dollar national projects.
The meeting discussed clarification of contract clauses, the creation of addendums, and the dynamics of negotiations between parties regarding the management of the pavilion, which successfully attracted 2.8 million visitors and secured investment commitments of USD 23.8 billion in the sustainable and creative economy sectors. Students gained firsthand insight into contractual analysis, technical-financial aspects, and cross-stakeholder coordination in an international government project, including adjustments for the post-Expo dismantling of the Type A pavilion.
Dean of the Faculty of Law at UPNVJ, Dr. Suherman, SH, LL.M., expressed his appreciation for this participation, which he described as a valuable experience that fostered legal analysis and professional communication. This activity integrates academic theory with real-world practice, preparing UPNVJ graduates to face the challenges of the professional world at both the national and international levels.
