UPNVJ Public Relations - The Alumni Corps of the 6th Battalion Menwa of the National Veteran Development University (UPNVJ) distributed a humanitarian donation worth Rp 15 million to flood and landslide victims in Sumatra through the Love the Country Cares for Others Foundation (CNPS). The donation was made on December 19, 2025, coinciding with National Defense Day, in response to the disaster that killed 1,006 people and left 217 missing as of December 13, 2025.
The flash floods and landslides that have struck Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, and Langkat, North Sumatra, since early December 2025 have caused severe infrastructure damage and limited basic needs for the community. A cash donation of Rp200,000 per family will be distributed on December 22, 2025, coinciding with Mother's Day, with priority given to elderly mothers, breastfeeding mothers, and vulnerable families.
Distribution took place in the villages of Babo, Pantai Cempa, Alur Cukur, Sukajadi, Sidodadi, and Lintang Bawah in Aceh Tamiang, as well as Bukit Kubu Village in Langkat. The field team was led by Bambang, an alumnus of Menwa Yon-6 UPNVJ, who collaborated with CNPS volunteers to ensure the aid was properly targeted and transparent.
Haris Iriyanto, Head of the UPNVJ Menwa Yon-6 Alumni Corps, stated that this activity demonstrated the values of National Defense. "This action demonstrates solidarity among the nation's children. Thank you to the contributors. Hopefully, it will ease the burden on the victims," he said.
Bambang added that the distribution was carried out with a humanitarian approach. "We ensure that the aid is felt by the survivors," he said.
The UPNVJ Menwa Yon-6 Alumni Corps is committed to continuing to participate in humanitarian actions, strengthening national solidarity, and bringing the values of National Defense to life in society.
