UPNVJ Public Relations – The Jakarta Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) continues its humanitarian action for victims of flash floods and landslides in Aceh by sending 48 packages of donated goods.
The supplies, consisting of medical supplies, clothing, and daily necessities, will be sent from Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta to Banda Aceh on January 3, 2026, using the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Humanitarian Ship, supported by Kalla Lines. This initiative follows the dispatch of two emergency response teams and initial supplies, as well as plans to send volunteers to clean up mud in the affected areas.
This aid responds to the severe hydrometeorological disaster that began in late November 2025. UPNVJ's internal donation drive yielded 48 packages of essential goods to support the rehabilitation phase, including meeting the basic needs of survivors still grappling with damaged infrastructure and mud-strewn environments. Collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) ensured targeted distribution to priority areas like Aceh.
Previously, UPNVJ deployed two disaster relief teams with medical equipment, medicines, and clothing for emergency response. Now, UPNVJ plans to send additional volunteers to assist with post-disaster mud cleanup and accelerate recovery in local communities. This step underscores UPNVJ's commitment to community service, aligning with the values of National Defense through concrete actions amidst a national crisis.
UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, said this initiative reflects the university's transformation toward national excellence in 2025-2026. "UPNVJ continues to strengthen its role in disaster management through ongoing service, building national resilience and public trust in higher education institutions," said Prof. Venus.
