UPNVJ Public Relations – The Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) Jakarta participated in a collaborative community service program for disaster response organized by the Forum of LPPM Chairmen of the West Region State University Cooperation Agency (FKLPPM BKS-PTN Barat). This activity was in response to the floods that hit Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, with a focus on Aceh from January 9-12, 2026.
The focus of the Disaster Response Community Service Program is on the affected areas in Aceh Province, including East Aceh Regency (Aceh Tamiang sub-district) and North Aceh Regency (Seududdon sub-district & Pidie Jaya sub-district). Through this activity, the synergy between state universities in the Western Region such as Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University and Bangka Belitung University is further strengthened in carrying out community service that is coordinated, responsive, and oriented to the real needs of disaster-affected communities.
Dr. Sri Lestari Wahyuningrum, Head of LPPM UPNVJ and Chair of FKLPPM BKS-PTN Barat, along with Dr. Firlia Ayu Arini, Head of the Center for Community Service and KKN UPNVJ, conducted a field visit to affected villages in North Aceh Regency (Seunuddon District) and Pidie Jaya Regency. The visit revealed damage to settlements, disrupted road access, and the loss of homes along the coast.
As a form of concern, UPNVJ together with PTN partners distributed aid in Seunuddon District, North Aceh Regency, in the form of basic food packages, stationery, school books, and biscuits for the community's basic needs.
This involvement confirms UPNVJ's commitment to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly community service, as well as strengthening the collaborative role of PTN in disaster management and social development.
