UPNVJ Improves Tax Compliance through Socialization and Assistance in Reporting 2026 Annual Tax Returns

UPNVJ Public Relations - Veteran National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) held a Socialization and Assistance Program for Individual Annual Tax Return Reporting in Nusantara Room 1, Wednesday (25/2/2026). This activity presented a Tax Counseling Team from the South Jakarta II Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes to provide comprehensive understanding and technical assistance in tax reporting for employees. A total of 40 employees representing work units participated in this activity as part of an effort to improve tax compliance within the campus environment. This socialization also addressed the need to adapt to the latest tax administration system, Coretax, which is currently being implemented by the government.

The event was opened by UPNVJ's Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs, Prof. Ir. Netti Herawati. In her remarks, she emphasized that the obligations of civil servants extend beyond the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, but also encompass compliance as individual taxpayers.

"One form of compliance is submitting annual tax returns correctly, completely, and on time. Campuses must be role models for good governance, including in tax administration," he said.

The tax advisory team in attendance included Yudha Wijaya, Mura Novia Nur Annisaq, Muhammad Dasir, Retno Yuli Astuti, and Afifah Sekar Arum. In his presentation, Yudha Wijaya explained that filing an Annual Income Tax (PPh) Article 21 SPT is not merely an administrative obligation, but rather a form of active citizen participation in supporting national development.

"Through the implementation of the Coretax system, the government is providing more integrated and accurate tax services. This system is designed to make it easier for taxpayers to fulfill their obligations in a transparent and accountable manner," he explained.

Participants received detailed explanations on how to complete and report Annual Tax Returns using the new system, from account activation and data updates to reporting simulations. Live consultation sessions were also provided to address various technical challenges employees encounter during the reporting process.

This activity also reaffirmed UPNVJ's commitment to strengthening a culture of compliance and internal accountability. As a state higher education institution, UPNVJ is required not only to excel in academics but also in transparent financial and administrative management. Tax compliance is an integral part of implementing good university governance.

Prof. Netti Herawati expressed her appreciation to the tax advisory team for their direct assistance. She hopes this activity will raise collective employee awareness of the importance of timely and compliant tax reporting.

"Through this outreach and mentoring, we want to ensure that all employees have a comprehensive understanding and are confident in submitting their annual tax returns. Tax compliance is our real contribution as citizens," he said.

This activity is expected to have a direct impact on increasing the level of compliance with Annual Tax Return reporting at UPN “Veteran” Jakarta, while also supporting a more orderly, modern, and accountable national tax system. In line with the policy direction of UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm, strengthening governance and a culture of administrative compliance is an important foundation in realizing a university that is professional, has integrity, and is trusted by the public.
