Eid al-Adha 1447 H Sacrifice at UPNVJ Held Orderly, DKM Encourages Innovation in Sacrifice Savings

UPNVJ Public Relations – The Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM Manbaul Ulum) of the Veteran National Development University (UPNVJ) successfully organized the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah sacrifice in an orderly, measured, and targeted manner. The sacrifice within UPNVJ was managed through a well-organized committee system, from participant registration, animal procurement, slaughter, and meat distribution to beneficiaries. Building on this achievement, the UPNVJ Manbaul Ulum DKM has begun preparing a "Sacrifice Savings" innovation to encourage academic community participation in next year's sacrifice.

The Head of the UPNVJ Manbaul Ulum Student Council, Suprima, S.Pd.I., M.Pd.I., MH, explained that the success of this year's qurbani implementation was inseparable from the work of the Islamic Holiday Committee, which was specifically formed to prepare all stages of the activity. Socialization to the academic community was carried out through the distribution of pamphlets and invitations to perform qurbani to various campus elements, starting from university leaders, deans, lecturers, educational staff, and supporting units within the UPNVJ environment.

During the data collection process, the committee recorded the sacrificers in an orderly manner while maintaining the trust and privacy of participants. Some sacrificers who chose not to provide their personal names were still facilitated by registering as "servants of God." This step is part of the DKM's efforts to ensure that the sacrifice was carried out according to the principles of prudence, transparency, and responsibility.

One of the strengths of this year's Qurbani implementation lies in its measurable distribution system. For internal campus recipients, the DKM utilizes employee data to ensure that the distribution of Qurbani meat reaches priority groups, including class 1 and 2 employees, janitors, security guards, parking attendants, and canteen and cooperative workers.

Distribution was also directed to the community surrounding the campus, particularly in the Limo and Pangkalan Jati areas. To maintain order, avoid crowds, and ensure equitable distribution, the committee implemented a coupon system. The coupons were distributed through neighborhood heads or local neighborhood administrators, and then carried by the beneficiaries when collecting the sacrificial meat.

Through this system, the implementation of the qurbani at UPNVJ is not only part of the Eid al-Adha worship but also a means of strengthening social solidarity between the campus and the surrounding community. The DKM believes that the qurbani has an important moral message, namely fostering sincerity, caring, and a willingness to share with others.

Going forward, the Student Council of Manbaul Ulum (UPNVJ) is preparing a Qurban Savings program as an innovation to increase the number of people performing qurban. This program is designed for academics who intend to perform qurban but prefer to prepare the funds in stages well in advance. This concept is expected to ease the burden on prospective participants and increase participation in future qurban celebrations.

The Qurban Savings Program is also projected to expand the reach of benefits to the community. The more participants who make qurbani, the wider the group of recipients who will benefit, both within the campus and the surrounding community.
