Prof. Anter Venus Participates in the UPNVJ Eid al-Fitr Sacrifice Ceremony

Public Relations of UPNVJ – The Rector of the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ), Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., participated in directly slaughtering sacrificial animals in the implementation of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah on campus, Thursday, May 28, 2026. The direct involvement of the UPNVJ Rector in the procession is a symbol of the exemplary behavior of the university leadership in bringing to life the values of sincerity, social concern, and solidarity of the academic community. This year, UPNVJ slaughtered four cows and nine goats as part of the annual routine agenda of Eid al-Adha at the National Defense Campus.

The sacrificial animal slaughtering ceremony involved the Manbaul Ulum Mosque Prosperity Council (DKM), lecturers, educational staff, and participants, both individually and collectively. The presence of various members of the academic community demonstrated that the sacrificial activity at UPNVJ is not only an act of worship but also a space for togetherness that strengthens social and spiritual bonds on campus.

In his remarks, Prof. Anter Venus stated that the implementation of the sacrifice is part of the university's commitment to building a religious, inclusive, and community-focused campus environment. He believes the value of sacrifice during Eid al-Adha should be maintained as an inspiration for the academic community to provide broader benefits through concrete actions.

"This sacrifice is part of the university's commitment to creating a religious, inclusive, and community-focused campus environment. We hope the value of sacrifice during Eid al-Adha will continue to inspire the academic community to contribute to others through concrete actions," said the UPNVJ Chancellor.

Prof. Anter Venus's direct involvement in the sacrificial animal slaughtering procession also conveys a moral message that the spirit of Eid al-Adha extends beyond ritual worship. Furthermore, Eid al-Adha serves as a moment to reinforce caring, exemplary behavior, and social responsibility in daily life, including within the university environment.

As an annual event, the Qurbani ritual at UPNVJ also serves as a means of strengthening ties among campus residents. Lecturers, educational staff, the Manbaul Ulum Student Council (DKM), and various members of the academic community play a role in maintaining this tradition of kindness and ensuring its continued existence.

By slaughtering four cows and nine goats, UPNVJ hopes the benefits of sacrifice will be felt more widely by the community. This activity also emphasizes the importance of togetherness, sincerity, and mutual cooperation as part of the character of the UPNVJ academic community.

The implementation of the qurbani at UPNVJ aligns with the spirit of the National Defense Campus, which places humanitarian values, caring, and social responsibility as part of the university's contribution to society. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., UPNVJ continues to promote religious and social activities as a concrete manifestation of character building, togetherness, and campus concern for others.
