UPNVJ Public Relations – The 2026 Independent Selection for the National Development University “Veteran” Jakarta (UPNVJ SEMA) has once again attracted the interest of participants from various regions in Indonesia. One of them is Marsya Nabila Aurelia, a prospective student from SMA Negeri 3 Palembang, South Sumatra, who came directly to Jakarta to take the National Defense Literacy Exam on Thursday, June 25, 2026. Marsya participated in this selection as part of her struggle to achieve her dream of becoming a doctor through the UPNVJ Medical Study Program.
For Marsya, the National Defense Literacy Exam offered a different experience than typical university entrance exams. She noted that medical school entrance exams typically rely on mastery of science subjects like biology, chemistry, and mathematics. However, the UPNVJ Student Examination (SEMA) presented an additional challenge through the National Defense Literacy material, a hallmark of the National Defense Campus.
"Usually, the most important subjects for medical school entrance exams are Chemistry, Biology, or Mathematics. This is my first time taking an exam on National Defense Literacy at UPNVJ, so honestly, I'm a bit nervous," Marsya said before entering the exam room.
Despite facing unfamiliar material, Marsya still prepared thoroughly. She searched for and studied sample National Defense Literacy questions from previous years to better understand the exam format and improve her preparation before the selection process.
"As preparation, I specifically searched for and studied National Defense Literacy questions from previous years to be better prepared," he said.
Marsya admitted that she did not want to waste the opportunity to participate in the 2026 UPNVJ Student Examination. The trip from Palembang to Jakarta was part of her determination to fight for her dreams in the medical field.
"My dream is to become a doctor, and I will continue to strive for it until I achieve it. I want to try and maximize my chances of being accepted into UPNVJ," Marsya asserted.
Marsya's story exemplifies the enthusiasm of the 2026 UPNVJ Student Examination (SEMA) participants, who came from various regions with the same goal: to gain the opportunity to pursue higher education at UPNVJ. Through the National Defense Literacy Exam, UPNVJ not only assesses prospective students' academic readiness but also instills the importance of national insight, character, fighting spirit, and social awareness.
The 2026 UPNVJ National Defense Literacy Exam (SEMA) was observed to proceed smoothly and orderly. The committee ensured that all stages of the exam followed procedures, supported by strict supervision and adequate facilities for participants, both from Jakarta and outside the region.
UPNVJ Rector, Prof. Dr. Anter Venus, MA, Comm., views the implementation of the Independent Selection as part of the university's efforts to recruit prospective students who are not only academically superior but also possess the character of national defense. Through a transparent, orderly, and quality-oriented selection process, UPNVJ hopes to produce a generation of young people who are competent, have integrity, and are ready to serve the nation through their respective fields of knowledge.
