UPNVJ Public Relations – The National Defense Literacy Exam (SEMA) held in the 2026 Independent Selection of the "Veteran" National Development University Jakarta (UPNVJ) presented a unique experience for participants. The exam, which took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, not only tested academic readiness but also prospective students' understanding of national insight, fundamental values, and the spirit of national defense. One participant who experienced this challenge was Mushafari Rahman, a prospective student from SMA Negeri 104 Jakarta who is targeting the UPNVJ Medical Study Program.
For Mushafari , the National Defense Literacy Exam was the most interesting part of the selection process. He believes the exam's concept differentiates UPNVJ's SEMA from the independent pathways at other universities.
"The UPNVJ exam intrigued me because the concept is so unique. To specifically prepare for this test, I deliberately opened and reviewed the Pancasila and Civics Education books from grades 10 to 12. I also continued practicing using UPNVJ independent exam questions from previous years," said Mushafari after completing the exam.
This preparation demonstrates Mushafari's commitment to the selection process. He focused not only on academic subjects commonly tested in medical exams, but also on revisiting civics material to prepare for the National Defense Literacy exam.
According to Mushafari , national defense can be interpreted as an active attitude of the younger generation in loving and fighting for Indonesia. This understanding is crucial, especially for prospective students who are expected to contribute in their respective fields of study.
"For me, defending the country is a concrete manifestation of our attitude in loving, defending, and continuing to fight for Indonesia," he said.
That same spirit is what he brought to his struggle to participate in the 2026 UPNVJ Student Examination. Mushafari admitted that he wanted to maximize all available opportunities to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor.
"My biggest dream is to become a doctor, and I will fight for that dream until the very end in this UPNVJ independent selection pathway," he said.
Mushafari's story illustrates the enthusiasm of UPNVJ's 2026 Student Executive Board (SEMA) participants in preparing for the National Defense Literacy Exam. Through this stage, UPNVJ not only selects prospective students with academic ability but also encourages participants to understand national values, integrity, social awareness, and civic responsibility.
The 2026 UPNVJ National Defense Literacy Exam was monitored as proceeding smoothly and orderly. The committee ensured that all stages of the exam were conducted according to regulations, supported by supervision and the readiness of computer-based testing (CBT) facilities.
